Llangennith Beach on Gower

Llangennith holds some of the most consistent surf on Gower Peninsula, located on the northern end of Rhossili Bay Llangennith is recognized as one of the premier surf beaches in the UK. There are various breaks along Llangennith beach, including Three Peaks to the north, here the wave can often be quite hollow and slightly bigger compared to the breaks directly in front of the car park at Hill End.

Rhossili is a superb 3-mile sandy beach owned by the National Trust with excellent bathing and spectacular scenery. Sheltered by the famous Worms Head the surf at Rhossili is usually 0.5ft-1ft smaller than Gennith, however on big swell Rhossili benefits from this protection so would be the preferred venue.

Tides: Llangennith/Rhossili can be surfed at all tides, but usually improves on the push from mid to high tide.

Winds: An Easterly wind will give optimum conditions for Rhossili and Llangennith. Facing directly west Gennith and Rhossili will however work on NE/E/SE wind conditions. With wind conditions above a Force 4 SW/W/NW Gennith should be missed however Worms Head again offers some protection to Rhossili so if you're really desperate this is your best bet.
