Swansea Bay stretches from Swansea Marina at the mouth of the River Tawe to Mumbles Head, a distance of around 6.5km. There is a promenade running along the edge of the bay, which is popular with cyclists, runners and walkers for the offering wonderful views across the bay.
The bay is ideal for watersports with national sailing competitions, wind surfing, stand up paddle boarding, kite surfing, power kiting and kayaking.
There are no Lifeguard patrols operated in Swansea Bay
Access and Facilities
There are numerous pay and display car parks located throughout the bay as well as a number of free parking locations. Facilities are primarily located near the Marina, Blackpill and Mumbles, these include cafes, restaurants, toilets etc. Blackpill is location about halfway between Swansea and Mumbles also has a paddling pool.
